Asha Audio laid its foundation in 18 may 1995 with the blessings of the legendry singer Asha Bhosle. In this journey of 20 years , we have been able to build up a catalogue of 400 titles. The initial years were full of struggle & hardship, but there was always a feeling of great self satisfaction because we were always working away from the ordinary. We took a very bold step to establish contemporary music and so happened ‘ Mohiner Ghoraguli ‘ & Paraspathar in 1995/96, which were followed by ‘Chandrabindoo, Miles, Fossils, Cactus, Lakkhichhara, Kaya & Prachir’. A new era was established in the form of ‘Band Music’ & Asha Audio became the Pioneer to promote new age sound and the upcoming Bengali Band.
A major section of our repertoire comprises of Rabindra Sangeet , Children Songs & Modern Songs and a very special segment of Audio Books, We further have Devotional , Folk, Recitation , Nazrulgeeti & Film Sound Tracks and many more. Our Tagore Section has a rich blend of artistes like Hemanta Mukhopadhyay, Debabrata Biswas, Subinoy Roy, Ajoy Chakraborty, Rezwana Chowdhury, Indrani Sen, Jayati Chakraborty, Srikanta Acharya, Manomay Bhattacharya……to name a few.
The genre has been further enriched by eminent artistes such as Shan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Kavita Krishnamurti, Babul Supriyo, Alka Yagnik, and many more. Infact ‘Khola Hawa’ by Shaan has broken all records by way of contemporary Rabindrasangeet sales.
The modern song segment has talented singers like Shreya Ghoshal, Lopamudra Mitra, Manomay Bhattacharya, Rupankar, Subhamita…. the list is endless!
